Operation Mincemeat

*Operation Mincemeat* is a British musical based on the real World War II deception plan in which British intelligence used a dead body and planted documents to mislead Nazi Germany ahead of the Allied invasion of Sicily. It was written by the comedy troupe SpitLip (David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, Zoë Roberts) and first staged in London in 2021, later moving to the West End. The score shifts quickly between period pastiche and contemporary satire, using small-cast role changes to show how bureaucracy and showmanship can overlap in wartime. A New York City premiere has been announced for Broadway in 2025 at the Golden Theatre.
