The Nederlander Theatre stands at 208 West 41st Street in Midtown Manhattan’s Theater District. Opened in 1921, the house was designed by William Neil Smith for theater operator Walter C. Jordan and today is operated by the Nederlander Organization. It is a Broadway venue built for large-scale musical and play productions, with about 1,235 seats arranged across two levels. Renamed in 1980 for David T. Nederlander, it occupies the district’s southern edge, where foot traffic and stage history routinely overlap.
