Children’s Museum of the Arts operated in Manhattan’s South Village, at 103 Charlton Street, from 2011 to 2022. The venue focused on visual arts programming for children and families, with hands-on studios, exhibitions, and workshops that treated making art as a public activity. Its permanent holdings included more than 2,000 works by children from over 50 countries, with pieces dating back to the 1930s. It stood out in the city’s cultural map for taking youth creativity seriously without turning it into a spectacle.
