About Prospect Park
Prospect Park is a 526-acre public landscape in Brooklyn, spanning the edges of Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Flatbush, and Windsor Terrace. Designed in the 1860s by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux and opened in 1867, it functions as an outdoor venue with shifting stages, from the Bandshell to Long Meadow. Programming skews toward free concerts, film nights, dance, and seasonal festivals presented with the Prospect Park Alliance and NYC Parks. The park’s size changes the listening experience, letting crowds spread out without leaving the city behind.
