The Queen of Versailles

*The Queen of Versailles* is a stage musical drawn from Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary about Jackie and David Siegel, a Florida timeshare magnate and his wife, as their attempt to build an enormous “Versailles” mansion collides with the 2008 financial crash. The score is by Stephen Schwartz, with a book by Lindsey Ferrentino. The musical premiered in 2024 at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre, with a New York City premiere not yet announced as of that run. Onstage, its sharpest material comes when private appetite meets public collapse.
